What many dismissed as folklore, old wives’ tales, or “country ways” were often highly adaptive systems built under pressure. Psalms & Potions documents how Black communities used faith, food, herbal knowledge, environmental awareness, and collective care to survive disease, displacement, labor, and systemic neglect across generations.
HOW WE MADE IT THROUGH
Disease followed policy. Hunger followed labor. Illness followed environment. But survival followed knowledge. Psalms & Potions documents the remedies, rhythms, spiritual practices, and community systems Black families built to endure and outlast the conditions placed around them.
